residents to sponsor their parents or grandparents to become Permanent Residents of Canada. This

Who Can Apply for Parent Sponsorship?


• Canadian citizens
• Permanent Residents of Canada
• Persons registered under the Canadian Indian Act
• Individuals wishing to sponsor their parents or grandparents
Sponsor Eligibility Requirements
• Sponsor must be at least 18 years of age
• Sponsor must be the child or grandchild of the sponsored person
• Sponsor must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or registered under the Canadian Indian Act
• Sponsor must meet minimum necessary income requirements
• Sponsor must agree to financially support parents or grandparents

• Police clearance certificates from countries of residence
• Immigration medical examinations
• Must be admissible to Canada
• Canadian medical insurance coverage for at least one year
