The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is New Brunswick’s Provincial Nominee
Program, designed to attract skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs who can contribute
to the province’s labour market and economic development. The program operates in partnership with
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
New Brunswick is one of Canada’s Atlantic provinces and is the only officially bilingual province (English and
French). It offers a lower cost of living and a high quality of life, making it an attractive destination for
newcomers and families.
NBPNP Streams
1) Express Entry Stream
• Aligned with the federal Express Entry system
• Targets candidates who meet New Brunswick labour market priorities
• Requires an active Express Entry profile and provincial selection
2) Skilled Workers with Employer Support
• For foreign workers with a permanent, full-time job offer from a New Brunswick employer
• Employer must meet provincial eligibility and compliance requirements
• Applicant must demonstrate relevant skills, experience, and language proficiency
3) Entrepreneurial Stream
• For experienced business owners or senior managers
• Requires active management and investment in a New Brunswick business
• Applicants must sign and comply with a Business Performance Agreement
4) Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream
• For graduates of eligible New Brunswick post-secondary institutions
• Applicants must have established or purchased a business in New Brunswick
• Requires active business management in the province
Application Process
• Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) or apply under an open intake stream (as applicable)
• Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from NBPNP
• Submit a complete provincial application within the specified timeframe
• Attend an interview if required by NBPNP
• Receive a Certificate of Nomination upon approval
• Apply for Permanent Residence through IRCC
Processing Time
NBPNP processing times vary by stream, application volume, and provincial priorities. Candidates must
submit a complete application within the timeframe provided in their Invitation to Apply. After nomination,Permanent Residence processing times are determined by IRCC.
