The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) allows the province to nominate skilled
workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs who wish to live and work permanently in Prince
Edward Island. The program is delivered in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
(IRCC).


Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest province by area and population and has a strong economy
driven by agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and food processing. PEI PNP supports economic growth by
attracting individuals who can meet the province’s labour market needs.


PEI PNP Categories & Streams


1) PEI Express Entry Stream
• For candidates with an active federal Express Entry profile
• Applicants must be eligible under a federal economic immigration program
• Selection is based on PEI labour market needs and candidate ranking
2) Labour Impact Category
• Skilled Worker in PEI – for skilled workers currently working in PEI with a job offer
• Skilled Worker Outside Canada – for skilled workers outside Canada with a PEI job offer
• Critical Worker – for semi-skilled workers already working in PEI with employer support
• International Graduate – for recent graduates from recognized PEI institutions with a job offer

3) Business Impact Category
• Work Permit Stream – for entrepreneurs who invest in and actively manage a business in PEI
• Applicants must meet net worth, investment, and business ownership requirements
• Permanent Residence is granted after meeting business performance conditions
Application Process
• Create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with PEI PNP
• Receive an Invitation to Apply based on ranking and provincial priorities
• Submit a complete PEI PNP application
• Receive provincial nomination upon approval
• Apply for Permanent Residence through IRCC


Processing Time


PEI PNP processing times vary depending on the stream, application volume, and provincial priorities.
Provincial processing may take several months. After nomination, Permanent Residence processing times
are determined by IRCC.
