PNP – Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia Nominee Program)

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) allows the Province of Nova Scotia to nominate skilled workers,
international graduates, and entrepreneurs who wish to live and work permanently in Nova Scotia. The
program is delivered in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
General Eligibility Requirements
• Valid passport or travel document
• Meet medical admissibility requirements
• Police clearance and security background checks
• Sufficient settlement funds for self and dependents
• Relevant education, training, and work experience
• Licensing or accreditation where required
• Demonstrated intention to settle in Nova Scotia
NSNP Streams
1) Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities (Express Entry)
This Express Entry-aligned stream selects candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet Nova
Scotia’s labour market priorities. Invitations are issued based on targeted occupations and provincial needs.
2) Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry
This stream is for highly skilled individuals who have at least one year of full-time work experience in Nova
Scotia in a skilled occupation and meet Express Entry requirements.
3) Skilled Worker Stream
For skilled and semi-skilled workers with a permanent, full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia employer. The
employer must meet provincial eligibility and compliance requirements.
4) Entrepreneur Stream
For experienced business owners or senior managers who wish to establish, purchase, or partner in a
business in Nova Scotia. Applicants must actively manage the business and meet investment and net worth
requirements.
5) International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
For graduates of eligible Nova Scotia universities or community colleges who have started or purchased a
business in Nova Scotia and have actively managed it for at least one year.
Application Process
• Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) or receive a Letter of Interest (LOI) (as applicable)
• Receive an Invitation to Apply from NSNP
• Submit a complete provincial application
• Attend interview if required
• Receive provincial nomination upon approval
• Apply for Permanent Residence through IRCC
Processing Time
NSNP processing times vary by stream, intake limits, and application volume. Provincial processing may
take several months. After nomination, Permanent Residence processing timelines are determined by IRCC.
